Meet the Owners: April Frencl and Ron Wainscott
Shore Shooters began as “Ron Wainscott Photography” in 2004 in Gulf Shores Alabama. Ron’s goal was to not just provide great beach photos, but also to simplify the process and pricing and provide the best customer service.
As the business grew, Ron was turning away more appointments than he could take because he was only one person, and thousands of families were coming to the beach wanting photos. So the business model changed, and the goal was to have multiple Gulf Coast beach photographers while still offering the same personalized one-on-one customer service that Ron’s clients had received when he was a “one-man show”.
Ron set out to work with all the best local photographers. He would handle the administrative side so they could just concentrate on doing their thing with the camera.
Meeting April made it all fall into place. They teamed up, expanded the business to Destin, 30A, and across the Gulf Coast, to create the leading beach photography business with around 1,500 appointments each summer.
April had ideas about finding talented photographers and coaching them on shooting with the Shore Shooters brand in mind.
We also added staff editors to keep everything looking consistent. This business model has been working for the past 15 years, and we hope it lasts for many more!

He started out as a Shore Shooters photographer, then moved into a customer service role in our office.
He’ll have you laughing hysterically by the time you get off the phone with him, but he takes his job very seriously. He loves talking to our clients and will take the time to thoroughly explain our process and answer your questions.
